Hey, I'm Shelby Highsmith, and I'm your Georgia correspondent and resident rocket scientist. (That's a lie. I got a C in rocket science and have been working in air-breathing turbine engines ever since; but "rocket scientist" sounds so much better than "metalhead" or "crack addict.") So when I'm not covering the election, I'll be shedding some light on science and engineering news and how it affects the future of our country.

I was around when MTV killed the radio star. Unfortunately the radio star came back, on AM frequencies, and it's a bunch of reactionary gas-bags promulgating propaganda. It's time for video to make a comeback! I will keep you up to date on political issues in Georgia and all the sci-tech geekery you could ask for.

Subscribe to my RSS feed.

Want more? Try my personal blog, shelbinator.com, where you might occasionally find live video coverage of interesting events on my webcast page thanks to the drool-inducing Nokia N95. To stay up to date on video broadcasts and other random thoughts I feel like sharing, follow me on Twitter. (Trust me, it's handy.)

Closing it out in Georgia

Well, this is it, Street Team fans, the end of this crazy election road.  Here's my 4 minute flashback of the last 40 weeks, celebrated with a 40 as it should be.

Will boring turn to shocking?

I hate to sound like a buzzkill, but so far, Election Day is kind of boring.

You see, Super Tuesday really set the bar unfairly high.  Waaaaaay back then, the first time I was carrying a magical Nokia N95 around town f...
