I'm a citizen journalist for the 2008 MTV Choose or Lose Street Team. I'm going to shoot a series of video portraits of New York voters. I'm also going to create a variety of other multimedia projects for this amazing creative endeavor.
I'm also a stand-up and sketch comedian. My comedy/writing/jack-of-all-trades website is SaraBenincasa.com. My weekly show Family Hour with Auntie Sara, a FREE family-themed (but not family-appropriate!) live show happens at Ochi’s Lounge at Comix (353 West 14th Street here in New York City) every THURSDAY at 7:30 PM.
I wrote the popular "SJ1000" sex and dating blog on Nerve.com’s Blog-a-Log, so if you're interested in reading about a year and half worth of my sexploits, you best click that hyperlink, pardner.
I also host Nerve.com’s Tub Talk with Sara B., a show in which I interview comedians and humor writers in my bathtub.
My trifecta of Nerve-related occupations includes contributing to the brand-new Chronicle Books release Position of the Day: Expert Edition: Sex Every Day in Every Day.
I used to be a contributing writer to the Onion News Network.
I'm a frequent-ish guest on the Sirius Network’s Maxim Radio Channel, where I talk about sex and romance and other pleasantly ridiculous things.
And you can follow me on Twitter. Because why not?
Here are some other important things about your friendly New York reporter:
1. I'm a political news junkie.
2. I'm fascinated by people's political/social passions.
3. I dig MTV News for reals. I watched MTV's coverage of the 1992 and 1996 presidential campaigns. I was thrilled to see politicians talking to, and about, people my age.
4. I'm interested in hanging out...at the place where social justice, activism, entertainment, information, politics, and social media meet. This would appear to be that place.
5. I LOVE NEW YORK!!!
