Mission Statement
Rock 'n Renew is a non-profit organization that helps students, businesses, activists, artists and musicians integrate sustainability into their lives. We use art, music and science to create a plan of action for the planet by custom-designing initiatives for schools, businesses, and communities. Recognizing the connection between sustaining culture and sustaining our planet, we create programs that inspire collective action, and create solutions to protect our future. Rock 'n Renew is found in New York, London, Stockholm, Madrid, Belgium, Barcelona, LA, Atlanta, and other cities around the world. Through rock shows, festivals, lectures, installations and other events, Rock 'n Renew has brought the message of sustainability to over 250,000 people since its inception in 2006. By the end of 2007, Rock 'n Renew will have interacted with over half a million people around the world.
Rock 'n Renew artists include Debbie Harry, The Kaiser Chiefs, The Fountains Of Wayne, Everclear, Morningwood, Kal Penn, and many others. Working with these artists, we are re-invigorating the spirit of social action that filled the 60's. "This is the civil-rights movement of our generation". (Robert Kennedy)

Rock 'n Renew just finished an incredible set of events with The NRDC's Itsyournature.org and The Download Festival. In Boston and Chicago, Rock 'n Renew and The NRDC worked on the "Ditch The Bag" campaign. We got all the coolest indy skate shops, record stores, book stores, and coffee shops to begin using canvas instead of paper and plastic. We also had an interactive tent were the concert fans created their own designs on a canvas bag. Jonny Dubowsky had the opportunity to interview Modest Mouse, Guster, and many other cool bands. We are looking forward to continuing the work, so help us spread the word!
