"Please use your liberty to promote ours." - Daw Aung San Suu Kyi
Why I’m Here
I want to bring awareness about Burma. In a country where eighty percent of the population practice Buddhism and monks are being executed, the people of Burma face the biggest struggle. Hope is diminished as the military dictators violently suppress the monks and peaceful protesters. Monks are the moral figures of Buddhism and what hopes do the people of Burma have when the military shows no mercy? Monasteries were the heart of Burma until the military raided the sacred ground and forced the monks out of their peaceful home. Living in the US, we have way more comforts then we can ask for, and I want to use the luxury of our liberty to bring light to the darkness in Burma. Please help end the bloodshed by taking an interest in Burma. If we don’t take action now, the brutal military regime will continue its violent crackdown on the people of Burma. The courageous monks and the people of Burma should not be forgotten and I will use my freedom to raise awareness about Burma.
