This legendary actor undoubtedly has more to give than just outstanding performances on screen.  Nicholson is a supporter of ActionAid, an organization that works with local partners to continue to fight poverty and injustice worldwide.  Over 13 million people have been helped with receiving food, shelter, work, education, and healthcare.  He is also involved with Hole in the Wall Gang which is the worlds largest of family camps that take care of seriously ill children. Still, this icon has time to devote to the environment, trying to spread awareness of the use of solar electricity in order to conserve energy. 

George McGovern’s1972 campaign was the last time until 2008’s presidential elections that Nicholson was politically active.  He is now a strong supporter of Hilary Clinton saying that she “has been involved in issues, everything from healthcare, which we know and prison reform and helping the military, speaking for women and speaking for Americans."
