""If You Fall Down, We'll Help You Up Again""
Why I’m Here

I am the Founder and CEO of a fast growing faith-based program targeting in the African-American community.  The program is called, Big Dads Mentoring Programs, (BDMP), is an innovative program focusing on the prevention of crimes and violence in the lives of our children by using the positive influence of male role models for those young males whose fathers are not active in the lives of these young men. Compared to other racial groups and gender, young Black males are the most at- risk group of juveniles in today’s society. At the center of the dilemma is the fact that Black males are over represented in the criminal justice system while underrepresented in the educational system, a tragic reality.  There are an alarming number of Black males falling victim to academic failure and being arrested and incarcerated on a daily basis.  The inadequate education received along with the limited employment opportunity they possess, Black males are in crisis that needs the America’s attention.

I am searching for directions on a situation with a young male incarcerated and sentenced for 24 years of a drug charge of which he was not responsible for.  I have written a Clemency letter January 2006 to Governor Rod Blagojevich office and the Illinois Prison Review Board.  I was informed that it was accpeted and awaiting the Governor's decision which could take up to full term of his office.

My concerns are that our youth, especially of African-American decent,  needs support, especially when they come from dysfunctional families and homes. Many of our young black males needs a chance to become who they are through mentoring, guidance and a positive male adult, father-like figure.
