"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall through anything" - Eddie Vedder
Background

Check out the video "No More" which was written for Iraq War veteran Tomas Young's documentary "Body of War"

Eddie Vedder is an active surfer and lover of the oceans and outdoors, and thus involved in many environmental conservation related organizations. He shows his support for environmental activism by sporting an Earth First! tattoo on his right calf. The logo is of a monkey wrench crossed with a stone hammer. Vedder is also a vegetarion and animal rights activist.

Eddie Vedder is also a longtime and outspoken supporter for the Free the West Memphis 3 movement, a cause that advocates the release of three teenagers (now in their 30's) who were convicted in 1994 of the gruesome murders of three little boys in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Vedder commonly uses his musical skills to help advance the awareness around issues he cares about.  This includes writing music for the 2008 documentary Body of War which tells the story of Tomas Young, a war veteran who was shot and paralyzed from the chest down after serving in Iraq for less than a week.
