This entry's green tip: When you bring your lunch to work with you, use a grocery bag that you can re-use, and bring silverware instead of that plastic stuff.  Reduce, re-use, people!!!

So, there's  no denying that our country is going through a very special time in history.  When the previous presidential election occured, I was too young to vote.  I was only 17.  When this one came around, I wasn't going to pass up the chance to be a part of history.  I voted, and it made me feel like I created a wrinkle in time.  I felt like even though my vote was single and solitary in power, it had power nonetheless.  And I was excited.  I did a lot of thinking about what voting meant for everyone who voted.  This election meant something to everyone.  People turned out to the polls in record numbers.

So this entry's green tip is about household cleaners...Forgive me for forgetting the name of the product...I'll hit y'all with that in my next entry.  But Arm & Hammer has put out a line of green household cleaners that use water and cartridges with cleaner.  Not only are the cleaners plant based and biodegradable, but this also allows for the bottles to be re-used.  Shout-out to Arm & Hammer for having such a fly product.

So I know most everybody who cares  about the free world we live in watched Barack Obama's speech last night.  I will admit that I didn't have a r...

So I decided to have at least one green tip every entry...I think that going green is a great lifestyle and I think that we can all make small changes in our everyday lives to leave this world as a nice place to live for future generations...this entry's green tip is about soap containers.  Instead of buying a new plastic bottle everytime you run out of hand soap, try buying a glass one like they sell on the bathroom decoration aisles of your favorite homeware store.  Then buy the giant refill bottles so you only have to buy soap every month or so (and that's if you use a lot of it.) and it's another way to keep plastic bottles out of landfills...how y'all like dem applez?

So this is my first post...I decided to write about some things that have been on my mind.  This is the first presidential election that has gone on since I've been old enough to vote.  During the previous one, I was only 17.   Some say this is the presidential election that will rival all others after it.  They say this one's going to make history.  I kinda feel special that this is going on in my lifetime.  I see change on the horizon, and it's exciting to know that as a Black woman, I have a part in that.  It's disturbing though the amount of voter apathy.  People, namely the youth of our nation, think that the things that everybody's talking about are things that won't change if they vote.  But they complain about gas prices, and how much it costs to live.  Don't they know they have the power to change all that?  The power's in the vote, people.
