"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Why I’m Here

I joined Think to be connected to a broader web of young activists that are working hard for change inside of their communities and abroad. I'm interested in children and women's rights,  humanitarian relief operations, and the alleviation of poverty and disease. As a student activist, I'm a member of UNICEF at the University of Southern California, where other students and myself educate, advocate, and fundraise for the US Fund for UNICEF. I lived in Guatemala for many years and it is there that I understood the incredible struggle that people have to go through in developing countries just to get by. Children working on the streets, hungry, and being denyed an education; women systematically discriminated against, denied access to family planning services, health services, and the opportunities to become educated and develop as successful human beings. This experience has driven me to study and explore the reasons why these problems exist in an effort to be part of the solution.  To be part of this larger world of activism and to work alongside a dedicated team of student leaders has been incredibly fulfilling and it's the skills that I'm building now that will help to carry me into my future work. I love to network and support a wide variety of causes, so if you think we're like minded, or perhaps not (i love a good debate too!), then message me!
