Mission Statement

We envision the day when everyone in the world can take a safe drink of water.

Why? Because one in eight people don't have clean water to drink, and 2.5 billion don't even have a basic toilet! Because 4,900 kids die everyday from diarrhea - one child every 15 seconds. And because no other single intervention is more likely to have a significant impact on global poverty than the provision of safe water.

We work directly with people around the world building sustainable water and sanitation systems that not only save lives, but enrich development and empower communities to thrive.

Light up someone's life this holiday
This year, we invite you to light up someone’s life with the gift of clean water. Unfortunately, 1.1 billion are without! Can you imagine? But for only $25 you can bring someone access to safe water for life, and for $150 you can meet the water needs of an entire family. On behalf of WaterPartners and those we serve all over the world, thank you for your generosity during this holiday season and throughout the year. You make our life-saving work possible! water.org

Yes You CAN
It is no joke. Today we celebrate World Toilet Day and the incredible value of the can. Call it what you will the pot, the loo, the throne, the latrine, the water closet, the bog it’s one of the most important inventions in history. Why recognize World Toilet Day? Because the majority of illness in the world is caused by fecal matter. Because 2.5 billion people, 42 percent of the world’s population, don’t have access to a decent place to defecate and urinate.
