My name is Anthony E. Hill and I am 20 yr old City Year New York corps member, but working with City Year has catapulted me to a whole new level of volunteering. I dedicated myself to 10 months of service and so far, I regret none of it. 80% of my time is spent working with kids; helping them with their homework, what goes on in their environment, building up their self-esteem and the other 20% is doing community service. When I first started mentoring the children, I didn’t see the effects of my service, but gradually, as the months went on, I started to see the kids I was helping starting to grasp what I was teaching.
