Happy Veterans Day

ServiceNation is proud to announce the launch of Mission Serve, a new initiative to bring military and civilian volunteers together in service.

Mission Serve is about:

1. Supporting Military Families

Rising suicide rates, post-traumatic stress disorder, and health issues are just a few of the intense stresses of military life. Nothing helps warriors more than strong families. We are working to give military families the emotional, medical and everyday support they need to stay strong and help their loved ones in service overcome these challenges.

2. Veteran and Military Family Employment

Employment is central to quality of life. We are building systems designed to help both wounded and healthy veterans find meaningful and gainful employment, including vocational assessments, education/training, job search, and mentoring.

3. Engaging More Service Members, Veterans, and Military Families in Civilian Service (With a Focus on Education)

The millions of Americans who make up our military community are an enormous but underused resource of disciplined, educated, and motivated people. This project will connect military communities and military organizations with their civilian-service counterparts, to enable them to work together and share best practices across a range of sectors, especially education.

First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will help us launch the event today at 2pm EST. Watch the live broadcast on our webpage at ServiceNation Mission Serve or stay tuned to the Think.MTV.com front page.
