"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately..." - Henry David Thoreau
Why I’m Here

Life is a waste if you don't take the time to sit down and think about it -- the world around you, your own life experiences and what the world is becoming. Many in our generation subscribe to the holy book of apathy, believing that to ponder ideas, or even ruminate on an event beyond the time that it's over, is a waste. Isn't it easier to just not care?

Sure it is. But at what cost? Is it better to take measure of the world around you, take personal inventory of your own experiences, and learn from that wealth of information that only exists when you take the time to contemplate it? Or is it better to wake up at age 50 and suddenly be surprised by your life, to ask at that point, "How did I get here?"

Before we know it, our generation will be in charge of the world, a world that's filled with both innovations and astronomic problems that our parents and grandparents never dreamt of. We will have to take responsibility for it, whether we want to or not. It will be up to us to fix those problems and further the wellbeing of the world.

So do we choose to take the time to sit down and think about those things? Or do we just live and let live and suffer the consequences? Either way, the world is going to keep moving forward. What to do with it is up to us.
