In 2005, Ben Meinhardt’s student film “Binge and Purge” won the audience award at NYC’s popular Animation Block Party film festival. Casey Safron, the curator of ABP, struck up a friendship with Ben, and together they discussed the idea of developing a series out of the award winning “Binge and Purge.”
From that initial discussion, the concept of “Perfectland” was born. “Perfectland” brought Ben’s vision of environmental awareness and cute animal mutation to a whole new level of cartoon madness. The series was produced between Vancouver and Manhattan, with a small team of animators supporting Ben’s brainchild.
“Perfectland” employed various animation programs to design its chaotic world, including Flash, After Effects, Maya and Final Cut Pro.
