Ah Fall. Leaves are falling, the sun sets a little earlier, two of the greatest holidays ever- Halloween and Thanksgiving- take place, and this year we will crown the 42nd President of the United States.
This election, arguably more than any other in history, has catered to a younger demographic. When one listens to a speech by Barack Obama or John McCain, many references are made about young people. Issues that are important to young voters seem to be talked about with just a little bit more passion, a little bit more electricity, and a little bit more enthusiasm than other issues. Both Senator McCain and Senator Obama seem to care a lot of about young people and how they pertain to the future of this country. My question is, do young people care about Obama, McCain, and this year’s election itself?

It's been an exciting past few weeks for voters, politicians, and of course, journalists. My cohorts and I had the unique opportunity to attend, or in some cases, even throw viewing parties for both the Democratic and Republican Conventions, respectfully. In between dealing with equipment, setting up aesthetically appealing shots, finding aesthetically appealing (good looking) people, and interviewing, there was little time to actually enjoy(?) the historic conventions. I was able to catch the replays though, and the prevailing thought swimming across my mind was this: If one were to base their vote simply on the speeches that Barack Obama and John McCain gave at their respective conventions -- and the reactions of the people i spoke with -- it seems McCain would win by a large margin. Don't get me wrong, I think Obama is a great speaker. He has that intangible “it” factor that makes people want to hear what he has to say. Unfortunately...

It’s one o’clock P.M. on a Saturday afternoon. While many teenagers are just starting to wake up, Willie Neal is barreling south on I25 towards Denver Colorado. Is there a concert in the “Mile-high” city this weekend? Perhaps, but that’s not the reason Willie is headed there. Is there a new, hip club in the downtown area? Denver is full of them, but Willie has more pressing matters at hand. Willie Neal, an 18 year old high school graduate from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is one of the precious few younger delegates from Wyoming that will be present at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. ...

Gas prices continue to be one of the biggest concerns during the election, especially of young people. I recently did a "man on the street video," talking to real, regular people, about a real and all too regular problem: The high cost of gas. This is their story.

Paris Hilton. Britney Spears. Barack Obama. Who seems out of place here? Is it Paris Hilton? I mean, out of the three of them, she seems to have done the least amount of work to achieve her level of celebrity. Well, despite that, it’s not Paris. Is it Britney? I’ve never seen Barack Obama or Paris Hilton try to shave their heads and get custody of their kids. Also, they’ve never been married to a D-list rapper. Well, no, it’s not Britney either. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, dear reader, the one that seems out of place is Barack Obama. Mainly because he’s a brunette. And a man. And the Democratic Presidential nominee.
