In January of 2008 NOLS took part in Focus the Nation, www.focusthenation.org, by hosting an event in Lander, WY. Around 200 community members attended the event from Lander, Riverton, and Jackson, WY. Our speakers included government officials, students, athletes, scientists, and local business owners who brought their solution oriented questions and ideas on global climate change to the table.

Powered by recycled vegetable oil (RVO), solar power, and sponsored by Stonyfield Farm, the makers of organic yogurt, this educational program on wheels provides an active, environmentally conscious way to learn about the outdoors and celebrate leadership in your community.
In December of 2007 NOLS Rocky Mountain completed the instillation of 84 solar panels, each producing a maximum of 170 watts with a grand total of 14,280 watts. Every year this system will offset up to 50,000 pounds of carbon dioxide! Check out the video at:
