Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. Our program helps preschool children develop the vital language and literacy, and social skills that they will need to succeed not only in kindergarten, but also in life. We do this by recruiting, training and supporting college students, called Corps members, as they work one-to-one with a preschool child from a low-income community for a full school year. Since 1993, Jumpstart's Corps members have helped over 50,000 children enter school prepared to succeed.
