Mission Statement

Journalism matters. To us. To teens. To schools. To democracy.

We created hsj.org to help students (and others who support them) understand, learn and get as excited about journalism as we are.

Then we thought -- what about schools that don't even have a way for teens to express themselves and report about their peers? What about schools that aren't online? So we made my.hsj.org. Any U.S. high school can get on there and upload student media. Teachers and principals are cool with it because they know who we are. And teens are cool with it because, well, it lets them express who they are and their excitement about journlaism and the world.

And we think THAT is pretty cool.
