JOIN THE MOVEMENT TO STOP WORLD HUNGER

World Hunger Relief Week (October 14-20) is a global movement designed to fight world hunger on a global scale with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

WFP has joined forces with Yum! Brands, whose brand names include KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's and A&W Restaurants, in order to raise awareness and much-needed unrestricted funding to fight hunger on an unprecedented, global scale. Through an extensive in-restaurant and online fundraising campaign from October 14-20, World Hunger Relief Week is taking place all over the world, including in Yum! Brands locations in 112 countries.

Please spread the word about World Hunger Relief Week, and encourage your friends, families and classmates to do the same.  A great way to do this is by joining the World Hunger Relief Week group on Facebook.

Affecting 1 in 7 individuals on the planet each day, hunger kills more people than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. The World Food Programme is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger, feeding on average 90 million of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people in 80 countries each year. WFP provides food and resources to build self-sustaining communities in the most impoverished and disadvantaged corners of the world.

Together we can help bridge the gap between hunger and hope.
