Mission Statement

FreeRice.com is a unique website that promotes both education and ending hunger. On FreeRice.com, people play a simple game where they answer multiple-choice questions. For every answer they get correct, FreeRice donates 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

FreeRice contributes billions of grains of rice to help fight hunger: since its launch, FreeRice has collected more than 40 million grains of rice which is enough to feed more than 2 million people for a day.

The subject material started with English vocabulary and is now being extended to include math, science, geography, art history, and international languages.

I learned about this site at a state student council convention. Now I have my english teacher hooked on this site, and he uses it in some of his classes.
