Reality Check : Insufficient Funds
Posted  on June 30, 2009 at 9:49 AM
in

It is the end of the month, and for many people, that means rent/house payments are due.  This is true for me.  What is also true is I do not have the means to support myself any longer (short of some miracle).  Though it sounds like a plea for assistance, it is a reality check.  This is a check that can't be cashed.

Like many Americans who have tightened their belts and continue to do so, my income is now gone.  No person was aware of my monetary situation being as bleak as it is, because I didn't make it their issue.  For the most part, everyone I speak with is having concerns or problems that dwarf or parallel my current reality of no income and/or lack of ability to get it.  Because of this, I made a choice to not place that weight on others I know.  Did I shoot myself in the foot by not asking?  Maybe, I don't know.  Right now it seems to be that way.

Supporting the Constitution

"I support the Constitution for our United States of America."

That single thought can grow a variety of different ways, taking on a variety of meanings, to a wide range of people.

While I can appreciate most any level of hostility that anyone can feel for anything, it is hypocrisy at it's very worst/best when only like-minded individuals get together to form a round-table by which a group decides how to take action for others. To me, that is the very framework for terrorism, both overseas, and homegrown.

A Life of Hurt & Forgiveness in 1 Minute

I am speechless as to how this girl is feeling & coping.  This is one of those stories that people will probably form strong opinions about, as it unfolds.  Please understand that sometimes being speechless is the best thing to do, which I would like to clarify is not the same thing as silently disagreeing/agreeing with whatever force you believe is at work.  Plain & simple, authorities & professionals in any field need to do their jobs without disruption.  If you personally do not agree with how professionals & authories run certain things, be motivated to educate yourself...

HuffPost Suggests O'Reilly Language Contributed to Tiller Murder
Posted  on June 01, 2009 at 7:29 AM

[as reported via The Huffington Post]

May 31, 2009 | When his show airs tomorrow, Bill O'Reilly will most certainly decry the death of Kansas doctor George Tiller, who was killed Sunday while attending church services with his wife. Tiller, O'Reilly will say, was a man who was guilty of barbaric acts, but a civilized society does not resort to lawless murder, even against its worst members. And O'Reilly, we can assume, will genuinely mean this.

But there's no other person who bears as much responsibilit...

I would like for you (any of you) to decide what I write about in my next blog(s), not because I am the best at writing things, but because maybe some of you like my opinions...or are simply searching for a different perspective.

You can reach me with suggestions on my Twitter account: HeyThatsEric

Maybe this will work the way I plan for it to work, maybe it won't.  At this point, we are all still mapping out uncharted territory.  The best way I feel in testing how well this can work relies heavily through your participation to make qui...

The Scarlett Letter

The person who wrote this knows who they are, and I am not going to change a word.  Responses like the one below (intelligently written, non-offensive, paving way for future individuals in similar shoes, etc) can help lead to the ruins of money-making publications which shouldn't be making money.  BS publications thrive off of reactions, meaning they get paid for capturing things that are primal & not thought out.  I touched on the issue in a past blog entry within this "Think" community.  Although I'd bet the farm I had nothing to do with the response below, I am happy to see people fighting back in this particular style:

Architects of a New Dawn (Carlos Santana)

Parallel to the idealism of Shakira's life experience & wording (available for viewing in the "Think" community), and born from the vision of Carlos Santana:

Be advised that the above link contains real-world content that may not be suitable for some children. If you are the sheltering type of parent, feel free to review the link first. If you decide against allowing your child to access this site (which you have every right to do as a parent), also be aware that sheltering & isolation from these specific issues are factors in allowing ignorance of reality to flourish far beyond the time a child becomes an adult. It is my personal suggestion that we all consider this a Global initiative which will lead to more solution & resolution.

I'm going to keep this blog entry short, as a challenge for each of you to learn something without being spoon-fed an abundance of information.

After glancing through some of the comments left for this video, it is clear that some people are missing the point of Slumdog Millionaire...and are also not aware that the PCD version almost didn't ...

Sprint & Blackberry: You Just Built Your Own Tombs

Some decision maker(s) at Sprint/Nextel & Blackberry decided that it would be a great idea to have their new commercial revolve around a historical theme of some sort.  Sounds awesome, right?  Yeah, I thought so, too.  Words like pioneering, innovative, creative, and other similar thoughts hit me until the commercial hit me.  That commercial didn't just hit, it cracked...like a whip.  (The link to the commercial will be at the bottom of this blog entry for your viewing disgust).
