If you know about a student carrying a weapon at school or if you hear someone threatening violence with a weapon, call 1-866-SPEAK-UP. That's 1-866-773-2587. In 81% of school shootings, the attacker tells someone about their plans first. So don't ignore it. Don't assume it's a joke and don't try to solve the problem yourself. There is something you can do to make your school and neighborhood safe. Tell a trusted adult or call 1-866-SPEAK-UP to anonymously report any threat. You can call for free from anywhere in the country. Your tip will be forwarded to the proper local authorities so the threat can be resolved safely. The hotline is completely anonymous--that means no one will know that you called. In case of an immediate emergency, please call 911.
