SAFE is an environment that promotes discussion of the discriminatory practices of the US military and foreign affairs agencies (State Department, FAS, FCS, USAID) with regard to Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual servicemembers. With "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) still in place for military personnel and a variety of discriminatory practices affecting Foreign Service Agent families, work must continue to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to serve their country and that GLBTQ citizens have equal status to their heterosexual colleagues.
