I am a citizen journalist for MTV's Street Team '08. In total there are 51 of us – canvassing each state and Washington, DC (that’s me). MTV and the Knight Foundation hired each of us for an experiment in guerilla, multimedia journalism.
If you see a girl with a backpack of gear break into a sprint on K Street -- or the Mall -- or hell, in the Metro, wave hello. That's me, Erica America, out on the hunt. I see potential in everything and everyone, but want to cover stories that are untold. Underexposed. And of course, all things that speak to us-- the young people who are often under appreciated in mainstream press.
