I am a citizen journalist for MTV's Street Team '08. In total there are 51 of us – canvassing each state and Washington, DC (that’s me). MTV and The Knight Foundation hired each of us to create a young, national press corp to cover this historic election.
If you see a girl with a red and black backpack break into a sprint on K Street -- the Mall -- or Metro, wave hello. That's me, EricaAmerica, on the hunt. I see potential in everything and everyone, but want to cover stories that are untold. Underexposed. And of course, all things that speak to us -- the young people who are often not addressed by politicians and mainstream press.
