Why discriminate? We're all people?

I don't get why a variation of skin color makes a certain person feel like they're better than anyone. It doesn't make sense. We're all the same really, so what if you're darker or lighter than someone. You both have eyes, ears and a nose. You're pretty much the same.

Actually what you just did there would be classified as discriminating. Don't believe me? Let's check the definition in Merriam-Webster: 1a: to mark or perceive the distinguishing or peculiar features of; b: distinguish, differentiate. So by distinguishing the characteristics of an individual, you are doing what's technically called discriminating.

Don't feel bad. The word, "discriminate", has received a bad reputation in the last few years because it has received a false social definition that the majority of individuals have basically agreed upon without actually doing any homework. Other words have suffered this same erroneous fate, but that's for another day and time.
