This video is misleading. It gives no foundation for what's happening here.

It's private property, and the one who owns it and pays taxes on it gets to say what's done with it. The property owner allowed for a short time various people to grow some crops. After the owner decided they wanted to develop the land and make money on it, that's when it all hit the fan. The people kicking up a fuss in the video have some serious stones. Would they like it if some unknown individual just came into their home one day and said, "I'm staying here, and I will do what I want in your home. I won't help you pay rent or utilities, and you just have to put up with me -- Because I'm entitled to justice!" Makes no sense. Guess we know who really owns your property in California. No good deed goes unpunished.
