Veronica, take a step back for a second. Look at my previous comment from a different angle, and you'll see I was not advocating a defense for the rapist. I was merely digging deeper into this issue. I was trying to get you to ask why you believe there should be moral boundaries at all. If we don't know why there are basic principles for morality, then how can we define the parameters?

hoenslty i have no idea. and i tottaly agree with you, our government bouth canadian and usa are fucked seriously. there are a lot of things that needed to be changed expecaily with the number of rapes and kidnappings that happen each year, and also allowing sexuality to be out in the open instead of shut in the closet. seroulsy having our sexuailty so behind closed doors is SO unhealthy. and what society is doing to us is saying who you are is wrong so act like this. its pretty much something we have to follow unless we wanna end up in the slammer. fucked up indeed..

Ummm...okay, Saroin420. So are you advocating that it is terrible that child rapists should have to hide their love for children? ****** would argue there's nothing wrong with having relations with children. Who better to teach a child about these things than a learned adult?

Enough with the devil's advocate. In a relativistic society where moral boundaries are fluid, then we have no footing to tell rapists and child molesters what to do. Anyone can rationalize any behavior. And if all we have is the relativism standard, then everything is up for interpretation and no behavior is ultimately wrong.

Why should I look past my own beliefs? If we use your relativistic standards, then everyone's opinion is equal. Why should I put myself in another's shoes? If nothing utlimately matters, who cares? Why should my beliefs hurt others? If you trully believed your relativism, Saroin420, then what I bring to the table shouldn't bother you. Everyone is equal and one person's views cancel out another's. Therefore, there is no right and wrong because everyone has their own definition of the parameters of good and bad. Therefore, you can't judge me or anyone else who purports similar ideologies. You hamstring yourself. I agree about opening doors to so much more. I've said that before. Once you open the relativism door, so much more must come in.
