Portuguese police confiscated more than 7 tons of hashish for 70 million euros The Portuguese police in a series of raids seized more than seven tons of hashish, brought from Morocco, and arrested six people on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking. As reported on Tuesday, 17 March, the agency AP, the value of hashish was intercepted on the black market price of about 70 million euros. In a statement police said that drugs were seized during a series of coordinated special operations carried out by the end of last week. Five boats carrying drugs, were arrested in Lisbon in the historic area of Algarve in the south. Police suggests that the arrested persons - the citizens of Great Britain, Belgium and Morocco - are members of the international drug cartels. The Portuguese authorities consider the main Iberian Peninsula "gateway" through which the hashish from North Africa goes to Europe. Remember, March 10, during the special operation in Honduras plane crash legkomotorny with tons of cocaine aboard.
