Global Hunger Issue

Global hunger has reached epic proportions reaching nearly 1 billion people due to the convergence of higher commodity and global food prices; increased competition for products that produce energy; severe droughts and floods due to climate change; a surge in conflict and wars and a growing populations.

·        One in seven people go to bed hungry each night.

·        Hunger is No.1 on the list of the world’s top 10 health risks.[1]

·        25,000 people (adults and children) die a day from hunger and related causes.[2]

·        Hunger kills more people every year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.[3]

·        One child every six seconds (or 14,000) dies from hunger and related diseases every day.
