This entry's green tip: When you bring your lunch to work with you, use a grocery bag that you can re-use, and bring silverware instead of that plastic stuff. Reduce, re-use, people!!!
So, there's no denying that our country is going through a very special time in history. When the previous presidential election occured, I was too young to vote. I was only 17. When this one came around, I wasn't going to pass up the chance to be a part of history. I voted, and it made me feel like I created a wrinkle in time. I felt like even though my vote was single and solitary in power, it had power nonetheless. And I was excited. I did a lot of thinking about what voting meant for everyone who voted. This election meant something to everyone. People turned out to the polls in record numbers.
President Obama has a lot to live up to. He's taking office at a time of political turmoil in our country. Not only does he have to shoulder the problems of a nation, he has to shoulder the political importance of being our nation's first African-American president. That would take a special kind of person. And, in addition to all of this, he still has a family to raise. And from the looks of things, he's as active a parent as possible given his line of work. To me, that's beautiful. It's beautiful to me how the First Lady is a stand-by-her-man kind of woman. I can't count the number of time I've seen Michelle Obama mouth to her man, "I'm so proud of you." It gives me hope. I hope to be that kind of wife when I fall in love and get married one day. Way to set an example for love...
That's all I could think of to say for now. I know I haven't been writing in this thing on the regular basis. But I just got a laptop (WOOP WOOP!!!)<<that's the official "I got a laptop" cheer. So regular updates are a must. Peace and Jah Bless
