A simple statement on Abortion
Posted July 18, 2008 at 3:59 PM

People ask whether or not the infant feels it. If it is ever hurt in the process of termination. Other people ask what would become of the child if the aborted fetus had indeed grown up to be a "rapist" or a "murderer". It if had been let loose on the world. Nonetheless, I personally think it isn't right. Though I don't judge or would never open my mouth when it comes to such ordeals, I don't think its right. When people say it isn't a human yet, it wouldn't feel it, we also need to think about what a human is, or really, what a person is. The dictionary defines it as "a human being regarded as an individual". Whether or not that person can be raised in this fucked up world we live in is beyond me. Yet what really hits home for me is the fact that, even that little thing that is the size of a pea, it is a human. Whether or not science can say that, we need to know that the child has the possibility to be a human. It has the possibility to be a person. And though the woman who would carry the child would have to sacrifice herself, terminating the fetus is ending a possibility. That fetus, though some wouldn't consider it a full fledged human being yet, has the chance and the possibility to be the doctor that finds the cure for AIDS. It has the possibility to be the scientist that could help eliminate the damage of the greenhouse gasses. And even if that possibility of a human doesn't do something that huge in this world, it has the possibility to be someone's someone. To be the person that any race, gender, age, religion could love. And whether the mother of that child can't love them will their entirety, a person willing to give that love is there. Hell, its just my opinion, and for all you Pro-Choice girls, I'd love to hear your opinion too :)
