A company being run by teen-agers? DYNAMIC TEEN COMPANY, a premier teen organization has been an active participant in the community since 1997 and has been training top campus student leaders in Cavite’s public and private high schools.. DTC emerges as an effective youth development and friendship club with the objective of introducing to the teens the concept of youth importance, self-understanding and correct teen moral values.
Since its founding in 1997, DTC has put up an operational mini-library for students and meeting facilities which are both located at Club 8586 Center in Julian Felipe Blvd. Caridad,. Cavite City, Philippines. It regularly holds free subject tutorials to students and annually caters free seminars like Preparing for Adolescence, College Preparation, Career Selection and Youth Organizational Leadership among others. DTC also conducts dance workshops, outreach programs, trainings for aspiring student leaders and helps in the campaign of potential Supreme Student Government Officers who are determined to make a difference in the lives of their fellow students.
DTC has a good track record in conducting inter-campus activities held in campuses and shopping malls like the Search for Campus Pop Star, Campus Coolest Guys and Gals, Mind Booster Quiz, Song writing competitions, Kabataang Bayaning Mag-aaral and other contests with the aim of promoting sound values and timeless principles to the youth. DTC also holds regular outreach to the kids in Cavite’s unlikely places encouraging out of school kids to go back to school instead of scavenging garbage looking for sellable items and leftover foods that they can re-cook or be eaten directly out of the garbage. They conduct annual medical missions, Christmas treat like Pangarap na Pasko (Christmas Wish), Balik Eskwela (Back-to-school) projects which provides footwear, clothes, toys, school supplies to these underprivileged children.
They operate a KARITON KLASRUM project which is a mobile school and clinic converted from a regular pushcart which caters reading, writing, match, love for learning, values education and hygiene lectures and demonstrations. They give out free soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste, towels and other hygiene stuff. They treat and nurse the wounds of the kids living in the streets and cemetery. Kariton Klasrum also provides free snacks to malnourished kids and those who attend. And they are operating student led Interactive Support Groups (teen-to-teen counseling program and mentoring sessions) which helps teens with problems and an effective tool for sharing positive principles, advices and extending help by mere listening and of course through prayer. This enables other students to think of ways to help others too.
So many projects, but how do they fund all these? They recycle! They collect junk from households, sell them in the junk shops. Recycle cartons and wood into useful crafts that they sell. They print shirts to sell, operate a mini-store on weekends. They conduct concerts using their talents to raise needed funds for projects. They also join contests to be able to aid their cause.
Who says teenagers are irresponsible thrill seekers, troublemakers and a happy-go-lucky sector of our society today? Dynamic Teen Company proves the fact that even teens are MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
