It might be noted that Kesha is running to unseat two of the most progressive legislators in the country. Rep. Chris Pearson and myself are leaders on renewable energy issues, gay marriage, progressive taxation, universal healthcare, election reform, you name it.

While it is exciting to see people of all ages getting involved in campaigns and elections, we should all be working together to move these issues forward and spend our time and resources campaigning against those who stand in the way of real change and reform.

Our opponent (Kesha Ram) has not indicated a single issue where she disagrees with us. She also has used voter turnout as an issue against us. However Rep. Pearson and myself have been engaging students every year to get more involved. In fact, our turnout is low in appearance in part because of that engagement. We register, on average, about 700-800 students per election cycle (2 years). After folks move they are not removed from the voter rolls for 4 years. So our percentage looks low because we have approximately 1400-1600 voters on the rolls (of only 5600 or so) who are no longer here to vote. So our engagement of young people is being twisted around to be used against us with a quick figure from voter turnout that does not show the whole picture.

We believe much of what Barack Obama espouses. Part of that is working together to get things done as well as trying to remain positive and use the facts accurately. We hope that young voters will demand more from us and from Barack as the next month goes forward. The best time to keep politicians accountable is during the run up to the election and at the voting booth.

Our track record speaks for itself and has earned us (Chris Pearson and me) the endorsements of the environmental movement, choice movement, marriage equality movement and labor. We hope you will support our leadership and experience on these issues of change.

Kesha Ram is one of the only candidates I've met who truly wants to speak for me and my peers before she speaks for me.

Kesha has worked with the UVM student body, members of the community and has forged relationships with Vermont's political leaders that show her commitment to lead.

I know Kesha Ram will work hard to for me and my community members in Montpelier. Please join me in support of Kesha for State Rep.

I am so impressed by Kesha and the drive she has to do something good for the community and people. I think it is refreshing to have someone who is young and can get other young people involved in politics. I think a lot of people want to make change and are unsure how to do it. I hope Kesha's drive will empower other young people to go out and do the same.

Kesha is a wonderful, down to earth person who is interested in giving the people a voice. She is culturally competent and aware of the diversity that Burlington has. Burlington as a whole is fairly accepting but needs to do more. We need to open our arms to the many refugees in the area and help thier children to gain the best education Burlington can provide. I think Kesha will help make that happen.

Good luck on Nov. 4th, I'll be voting for you.
