Where Are They Now? Interview with Ladee
We recently chatted with Ladee to find out what she's been up to since the production.
What have you been up to since the shoot?
After the show, I spent my summer at home helping my family and then headed back to the orphanage to attend my school.
What do you miss most about the crew?
To be honest, I miss their kindness and the time that we spent together although it was such a short time. When I made a mistake, they encouraged me to keep trying and cheered me up. Also, they expressed love and care toward me, my family, and my village. Thank you so much to the crew; I will remember you forever.
What did you enjoy most about living with Ava?
Ava is really smart girl and I enjoyed spending time with her, but what impressed me most was her personality. She is friendly and she felt comfortable talking to my parents and friends in the village. She respected them as I did. She is sensitive and cares for others around her, even for my baby niece, Jade. Her life is a blessing to me. Ava also taught me to be a more courageous person when I had to ride an elephant to cross the river. I was really scared, but her words made me stronger and dared me to do it.
What was the biggest challenge living with Ava? Biggest surprise?
The biggest challenge living with Ava was that she hates bugs. I got annoyed sometime, but I understand that there are no bugs in Beverly Hills! So. I had to adjust myself as she did when she was living with me.
Do you keep in touch with Ava? What would you say to her if you could talk to her now?
We usually keep in touch on Facebook and we send each other messages. If I could talk to her now I would say I miss her and love her.
What was the most important lesson you learned from the production? Did you try anything new or do something differently after the production?
I learn to listen to other people more and care about animals/pets. I have been taking care of a dog named Mommam. He was abandoned, so he stayed with us at the orphanage. Sometimes, I will buy his favorite food to feed him. Although, I have chicken, pigs and cat, but I never realized their feelings until I met Ava, who is a true animal-lover.
How is your family? Any new changes since we last saw you?
My family has been doing well and they cannot wait to see the show. We constantly think of and pray for Ava's family and the crew. My older sister just gave birth last month so we are having a great time together here. For me, I have been really busy with my studies and my part-time job as an English tutor.
