Sarah makes her debut as a news reporter for Think MTV!
I just got back from filling up my tank, and it cost me 48 dollars. Forty-eight! Things I would rather spend 48 dollars on:
1. Forty-eight toys from the ninety-nine cent store.
2. Two, count them two, copies ofIdentifying Optimal Groups for Making Judgmental Decisionsby Stephen Stumpf (two of you will get this)
3. Getting KRUNK! jk….
Days like these send a nagging reminder of the need to create renewable, sustainable, and frankly, cheaper alternatives. While the Helios House is far from perfect, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. I had my doubts – a gas station that claims to be environmentally friendly seems a little out there, but in my piece you’ll see how they convinced me they are doing their part.
Now, do your part! Navigate around Think.mtv.com to find out how you can get involved with environmental groups near you. And most importantly, vote in November! We need candidates in office who make our environment a priority, because as Al Gore says, elections matter. So, do your research and make your voice heard.
Hopefully, someday soon, my forty-eight dollars can go to something a little more productive. Like maybe a new shirt for Nick? I mean maybe instead of “I only date blondes” and the “Lady Lova” t-shirt, I’m thinking “My lovin’s like solar power: hot and sustainable!” Well, I’m willing to take suggestions…
