This is my list of all time strikingly profound movies whether they leave you happy, sad, mad, enlightened, or any other emotion you can name or just sheerly entertained by the action- packed adventure or excellently executed directorial… they leave you with something… most of them will touch you for a lifetime, others simply move you for the moment… but at least they moved you. So far for 2009, I have yet to feel moved in any way, much less inspired… though I must admit a few left me quite baffled and disappointed and these are not the emotions that I would include in my Hit List… however, I do look forward to seeing “Fast and Furious” now that Vin is back on the scene… and yes… I want to see “Hannah Montana: The Movie” … I think that she is a very talented, bright, beautiful burst of sunshine and extraordinarily blessed by God and a much needed young Hollywood icon for our world today… mark my word, keep your eye on this young lady, she’s growing up to be a fine young women… she’s going places, I truly believe she is going to be one of the few young ladies in Hollywood today to stick it out for a lifetime! So anyway, I would also like to see “Monsters vs. Aliens”, and “Up”.
This is not to say that there aren’t a few good movies out there worth seeing… if you are in the market for a quick fix for utter boredom and not pure entertainment there are a few more that make the grade. I just happen to be very observant and find it incredibly irritating when there are glitches in a storyline or poor editing in the film… I always seem to see everything that the Editors bypass and think no one will notice… and while I do have many favorite Actors and Actresses it doesn’t necessarily mean the movie they are in as a whole would make this list. In my opinion, though a movie may have a brilliant Actor or Actress it also requires the charisma of the other Actors to bring the story to life and it is imperative to have writing with no inconsistencies in the storyline, it is crucial to have expert editing that allows a natural flow in the movie… this combination giving the film “substance” making it a “tasty treat” tantalizing one’s senses and the “icing on the cake” that makes it worth presenting is a great Director and Producer that enhances all of the “flavors” into the perfect medley and presentation worth “viewing” and “tasting”. And though, I truly believe that there are many great Actors/Actresses, Writers, Editors, Directors, and Producers you are only as good as your last film obviously this is not to say I don’t “give credit to where credit is due” this List proves, on the contrary. At one time Hollywood had consistency with Actors/ Actresses, Writers, Editors, Directors and Producers that you could pretty much bank on it being a hit if it had their name on it, unfortunately today it is a hit or miss… but I can assure you these are right on the money in all valuable aspects of a movie critique whether you are five or a hundred there is something to tickle your fancy! If one were to find a flaw in any of them it would be in editing, however not to any extreme of annoyance if anything… a bit entertaining… leaving one with the notion that it may have been done with intent… even so… if not… I find it bearing and acceptable. I myself, as you can see from the list like a wide variety of entertainment and I sincerely enjoyed all of these and they are genuinely my all time favorite from my earliest recollections of movies.

Now, to do this properly it would only be appropriate to include the “GREATS” in this most… alluring yet infamous… field of the arts… though far before my time and much greater distance from yours… nonetheless… these “GREATS” set the standards of what we call the “Entertainment Industry”… their influences are highly prevalent to all movies, films, sitcoms, talk shows, as well as, impacted the Writers, Directors, Producers, and Editors not to mention the true “Thespian’s” skill and persona to this present day!
Not in any particular order of years or preferences with the exception of Alfred Hitchcock and Rod Serling… they are amazing, note this list is also not only recognizing these artists as true Thespians but also for some of these artists their skills and accomplishments in writing, directing, and producing! All Alfred Hitchcock movies, and just about all the movies with “Jimmy” Stewart, Veronica Lake, Jerry Lewis, Henry Fonda, Steve McQueen, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Joel McCrea, Jack Benny, Lucille Ball, Grace Kelly, Yul Brynner, Charlton Heston, Sidney Poitier, Abbot and Costello, Gene Kelly, Paul Newman, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Jane Fonda (Old films, none of her new), and “The Rat Pack”. And we absolutely cannot forget Charlie Chapman and all of the fabulous Silent Films!
