Confusion

Mothers should negotiate between nations. The mothers of the fighting countries would agree: Stop this killing now. Stop it now. -Yoshikuni Taki Poems I wrote: We all bleed We are Black, We Are White, We are Asian, We are Hispanic, We all bleed We are Americans, We are Iraqis We are Soldiers, We are Marines We are Airmen, We are Sailors We all bleed We are civilians, We are Service Members We all bleed We are the innocent lives lost to an illegal occupation. We all bleed No matter who you are, or what you believe in, We all bleed The blood we lose is the same. We are all humans. We all bleed ----------------- Who am I? I am a father. I am a mother. I am a son. I am a daughter. I am a cousin. I am a niece. I am a nephew. I am a wife. I am a husband. Who am I? I could be you. I could be a Marine, Sailor, Airman, or Solider. Or I could be an Iraqi. Innocently lost. Forgotten. Please remember who I am. For I am just like you. I am confused. Well I know the intentions of going into Iraq were false, I feel we owe it to them to help them, in a humanitarian way. It will be hard seeing they might not want it, and are fed up with us because we created this hell they now are in, but we owe it to the people of Iraq. We made this mess, so we should help clean it up. Taking responsibility for our actions. I know Bush won't buy it, he is far from wanting helping Iraq in a humanitarian way. I think it is great that military members are taking it upon themselves to do so. Just as some in the US protest openly against the administration and the war on their own, I think that is what the military has to do. I am not saying don't disobey orders, but THEY themselves need to help in making the change on their own. I also believe we need to put more focus back on Afghanistan. We need to find Bin Laden. Sure, America has been safe since 9/11, and I think it has NOTHING to do with the wars, but we OWE it to the innocent lives that were lost on that day in September to find the one responsible. There are innocent lives lost in Iraq, whether it be US military or Iraqis. It is always said people wish a better life for those who come after them, well I think one way to pay respect to the lives lost on BOTH sides is to rebuild Iraq from a humanitarian perspective. Granted it won't bring back the lives lost, nothing will, BUT it will be doing good in their name. Also IF a withdrawal is proposed I would like to see a plan of action. Granted it will not go as directly planned, but I would like to see how the withdrawal will happen. Just as the US planned out the entry into Iraq, I would like to see an withdrawal plan. But, I think that is a worry some area. Given the "freedom" to obtain media from any source, the plan might get heard/seen by the wrong hands thus creating a bigger issue. How long will it take to get out of Iraq? Not only humans are there. Guns, Ammo, Tanks, Trailers, etc. How do we get those out? Leave them? My fear is IF we leave the ammo, and guns it will get into the wrong hands, resulting in a worse scenario. Do we ask for support from other countries to "watch our backs" as we leave?, leaving them vulnerable? On the humanitarian front: IF we do withdraw combat, but deploy humanitarian workers, I would think, they would been generalized by the Iraqi people as Americas = killers, because they created a mess, when it wasn't needed. Though I DO know their are humanitarian workers and and work going on, and the Iraqis have no problem with that. I think we need the NG and ANG home here. Or we could send them there seeing they're "home front" job is humanitarian efforts. It is great how we have US service members who have MOS that are not really meant for war times, and they ARE helping the Iraqis. Also I think that when military members should have a minimum of one year AFTER MOS training in their respective branch before deploying. As well as the VA, and the medics/corpsman/other medical persons should look over EACH military member before they are redeployed. We need to break the stigma that it is seen cowardly for admitting a problem, such as PTSD, TBI, or any other. Current foreign relations should be taught the deploying military personal as well as cultural differences, and tolerance for the nation in terms of their culture/way of life. Well seeing how things are going now, we need to continue and not forget that their is a war going on with human lives involved. Innocent lives, no matter how it is seen. Ever life is an innocent life. They might not want to be there, as some as us don't want them to be there either.
