Othandweni means place of love. It is a full service children's home with a nursery and preschool on site. The children are split into cottages which act to create a family unit and foster a healthy, normal environment for growing up.

Othandweni is in the Soweto Township, the same location where metal bullets were first used against the population during the oppressive years of Apartheid.
