On November 9th my new film "Lions for Lambs" comes out. Its an incredible story of a politician, a reporter, a professor, and a student, whose lives are strung together by two soldiers fighting in Afghanistan. As Robert Redford's character in the movie says, "There are people all over the world, everyday, who are fighting to make things better." What are some of the issues you see in our world today, and what are you doing to make them better?

In my new movie Lions For Lambs, my character suggest doing away with your junior year of high school in order to help us become better citizens in world and do more. (the clip is here on think labeled "Lions For Lambs: Engagement") Instead, you would use this year to either 1) do a year abroad with the Peace Corps 2) work in one of the 500 poorest communities in the US with AmeriCorps, or 3) do an ROTC-like apprenticeship here or abroad. What do you think of this idea? Is this something you would stand for? Do you have a better idea?
