South Dakota's HB1261
Posted March 12, 2008 at 3:44 PM

With the rise of school violence in the news lately South Dakota’s legislature has decided, like many other states, to try and take proactive steps to protect its students and staff in the event of a school shooting. The introduction of HB 1261 raised many concerns though, as to whether guns on campus were the answer to the problem or not. I talked to some students at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology as well as the Head of Campus Security at Black Hills State University to see what they thought about HB 1261 and whether they felt it was a good idea or not.
