VIDEO:  A new home

It is estimated that 2.5 million people have been killed in Somalia since 1991 when their government was overthrown. The escalating conflict has forced thousands of families to flee their country and their homes, seeking refuge in countries like America which promise them protection and a new home. For these thousands of refugees, adjusting to their new homes and new language can sometimes be a challenge. UVA's Bridging the Gap program seeks to help refugee children adjust to their new homes.
