Does anyone else feel exhausted?
Am I doing it to myself?
CNN and MSNBC, The NY Times, NPR and even SNL... The candidates, the economy, national security, health care, rhetoric, attack adds, the youth vote, the senior vote... I even caught my partner listening to my talk radio show in the car... I am not sure if I can take too much more of this.
Luckily I only have 17169 minutes until the polls close on election night in California.
But then what? I have gotten so used to scouring the web and radio for political news what will I do with all of those liberated brain cells after November 4th? It's as if the media high's and low's have become some what addicting... Feeling anxious about the economy has become sort of exciting... and feeling justifiable anger swell up inside me can be highly intoxicating... So what did I do with all of my free time before this election cycle? Before I had this many grey hairs?...
... O-right, Surfing...and walking my dog, and hangin with my dogs ... and sleeping in... Turning My Phone Off!
I feel so honored and blessed to have the tools and opportunities to create media and contribute content to the national debate on social and political issues. One of the reasons that I wanted to work in film and video is to provide a voice to the countless stories that go untold. Well it turns out that I am not the only one doing it... There are millions of us all highlighting stories that we think are relevant and interesting...
I'm looking forward to letting you-all handle it for a while ... Once November 5th hits I am taking a break... let's see that is a Wednesday.. No won't be able to .... O - and then my Mom is coming for a visit Thursday... Shoot and then my partners birthday on the 11th and then that trip to Calistoga I promised and then.... uugghhh....
Well one of these days I will take a break... for now I have to get some sleep. I am meeting my bro for a little surf sesh, 7am, Ocean Beach... Goodnight... cb
