I know that my parents began saving for my college tuition when I was very young. I was fortunate to have a family that helped me pay for my college education. WE didn't have a lot of money but I knew that my parents would help me pay for a state university if I kept my grades up and stayed out of trouble.
Many young people today think that if their family does not have money to help them pay for college then they have no chance of going. Well Arnold Hernandez is traveling to 60 cities around the country visiting low income communities teaching students and their parents that there are many ways to get money for college.
He is the national spokesperson for the Sallie Mae Fund Paying for College Bus Tour. The Tour is designed to travel to marginalized neighborhoods in sixty us cities and teach young people and their parents how to find money for college. The tour not only tells you where to go but provides a resource library and computer lab right on the bus that students can us to apply for funds.
