This is the first of what I hope will evolve into a more concrete series exploring campaign funding. I recently read that only 0.035% of American adults contribute $200 or more to campaigns and only .08% contribute $2000 or more. That's a tiny fraction of the population that has an enormous influence over our elected officials.
This first piece explores the top five donors to Republican Senator Lamar Alexander's campaign. Future pieces will explore Tennessee Democratic candidates.
