The Department of Veteran Affairs says hearing damage is the most common injury among soldiers returning home from war.
Of the 1.3 million American troops who have been sent overseas since the Iraq War began five years ago, the VA says over 70,000 suffer from some form of hearing loss.
Levi Long, 28, was stationed in Iraq for a year in 2004. After returning to his home in Dickinson, North Dakota, Long discovered he has lost 15-percent of his hearing.
