The mountain pine beetles have been making a tinderbox out of the Rockies in the past decade. The epidemic can be attributed to global warming. Normally, all it takes in the winter time is one night of -40F temperatures to exterminate the menace. However, Colorado has been experiencing mild winters in the last decade and the once natural balance has been knocked awry; and truthfully, there isn’t much we as Coloradoans can do about it.
