I'm the fella covering Colorado for the 2008 election. I can't wait to see how this election turns out and I am excited to be covering it.
Woah… I never thought November would actually come, like this election had no end to it and the issues would never be absolved; the wars, the economy, the environment, the candidates and their campaigns seemed to suspend in mid air while the world was on edge…
A scene was burned into my head after September 11th. Citizens in foreign nations dancing in the streets, celebrating our death and destruction. A little over 7 years later, there were people dancing in the streets because of one man’s American Dream. Hunter S. Thompson declared the American Dream dead but Barack Obama revived this nation's faith in it. After having talked with Tom Morello he wanted me to let you know that the Nightwatchman has got your back.
He made an interesting point though, if music isn’t an effective protest weapon then why is the government so afraid of stopping it?
And that’s consistent with my coverage of Colorado this year. From Super Tuesday to the Democratic National Convention to Election Day…it was made up of music, protests and other strange rumblings…You might be wondering, where are all the Republicans? Well, in Colorado, it was hard to say…for the first time in three decades, this state went to the Blue Team, and it was obvious why, their presence on the ground here was consistently stronger than the Red Team.
This is Trevor Martin from Colorado, signing off.
