VIDEO:  Obama Girl Power: Viral Video and the First Internet President

This week I talked to Ben Relles, the Ft. Washington-born creator of the "Obama Girl" videos and the political entertainment website barelypolitical.com. When the original Obama Girl video premiered in June 2007 it quickly became a cultural sensation. Relles is still making new videos—though his latest Obama Girl production has unfortunately been delayed—and in this piece he talks about the new power of viral video and the meaning of Obama's label as potentially the "first Internet President."

Interesting subject and a great interview. Nice work!

Bravo! Very well done. A solid in-depth interview with a "new wave" kind of media provocateur in this internet and vox pop era of politics. Also good use of additional video within the interview.
Keep up the solid effort!

Obama Girl is um....glistening. I can't wait to see that next video.

I talked to her at the first CNN/YouTube debate, and she was very good at staying on message; though she was gazing longingly at Joe Biden for a while (it must be the teeth), she refused to admit to having a crush on anyone but Obama.
Re: CassidyHartmann 120 days ago
I don't blame her. I have a crush on Joe Biden. I think it's the dimple.

The next video is on a SERIOUS delay, so you might have to wait a while for your OG fix, sadly.
