VIDEO:  Studying Abroad: Lessons Learned in Iraq

1.7 million Troops have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11...yet media focus on the Iraq War rarely includes the perspectives of the young vets who actually lived it. To truly form an objective opinion on the Iraq War, maybe we should stop playing the pundit...and start acting the pupil. In this video, young vets from Iraq Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Freedom give us their lessons learned abroad...and why they think we should either get out or stay in.

Awesome video blog. It's amazing that the mainstream media continues to ignore the very people doing the fighting and their opinions. Well done fair piece here. It's about time that the troops are not constantly being manipulated for political purposes but rather they get a chance to have their voices heard.

Good Job!!!! This is nice intro explaining the issues about the Iraq war. Some people think the US should stay because the civil war we started will explode into something bigger if we leave. They think US should stay for as long as it takes or we will be abounding the Iraqi people. Not only could pulling out hurt the Iraqi people it could also hurt the US defense industry, the world access to Iraq’s oil and a the lose of a major strategic point in the US’s War On Terror.

On the other hand people that support the pull out think that should use the money spent on the war for better purposes like social welfare programs, healthcare, education and the sciences. They also think that was it unjust and uninformed for US to military intervention in Iraq when the war started. If we pull out now we could also rid our world image as a bully.

What do you think about pulling out?
