2008 Choose or Lose Steet Team
Following this campaign has been an roller coaster ride from rainy streets with Obama supporters canvassing Richmond, to polling places, to now a watch party. I must admit this is the most I've ever been involved in the election process. I thik that's true for a lot of young people. I usally vote go about my day and watch coverage at home and go mourn or celebrate in private. So it's so humbliing to be on the ground floor watching and being a part of this election. I usally vote, go I spoke with young voters today voting for the first time. You could feel the pride and joy they felt from being able to pratice their patrotic duty. Personally I felt goosebumps casting my vote. We've been waiting for this moment for almost 2 years and emotions are running high all over Virginia.
This morning several polling places were reporting down machines switching over to paper ballots. People have left the polling places due to long lines, but we're finally minutes aways or hours away from knowing if Virginia voted blue this election.
The McCain watch party at the Marriot is packed to compacity as people gather around the television awaiting the results. I'm just as anxious as they are. What many thought would take until midnight may be decided in just hours.
